How it works
Great River Dragon-Serpent lineup: three Totems give Buffs to Ao'yin and Donghuang, boosting in-match combat power; the many Clash keywords are converted into levels by Zhang Liang, and Consort Yu gains levels based on the number of Totems, closing the lineup's loop.
Positioning
With Donghuang on the field, Totems are not targeted first, which lets Ao'yin keep triggering his own effects. Against assassins, huddle in the corner; if the opponent has plenty of AOE, line up in a single-file serpent formation, with Donghuang and Dasiming in the front row and the rest in the back row, just make sure the Totems survive.
Equipment
Ao'yin must have Staff of Nature, triggering it frequently to turn into a pig; all marksman gear fits, and against many melee opponents take Frost Invasion. Donghuang must have Famed Blade · Fate to avoid dying while his skill is suppressed; fill the rest with tank gear. Dasiming needs only one Dreamforge · Wind Chaser for a qualitative leap.

Almost all Great River exclusive talents are good picks; talents that boost basic attack damage, such as Ruinous Might, are also worth taking.

Little Yaria needs a win streak early on; Little Deer is a quality tank that solves the Great River Dragon-Serpent's lack of a front row early on, and the Devotion mechanic raises the late-game ceiling again.
Zhaojun has a Freeze enhancement: after freezing, the hero stays the same and awakening progress +2. This enhancement greatly speeds up how fast the Great River Dragon-Serpent comes together!
Naonao has an excellent card-search mechanic that ensures the lineup comes together faster in the mid game; at level 6, Naonao can also choose one more faction talent, and the Great River exclusive talents are all very strong.
